Our Programs & Services

We have five schools of learning. Each one is tailored for the specific needs of the child's age.
Infants ~ Toddler ~ Preschool ~ PreKindergarten~ Kindergarten

INFANT CURRICULUM

Our unique curriculum for infants not only offers excellent basic care, but also has several additional features, which makes it an enriching and special program.
Our babies spend the majority of the time out of their cribs. When the babies are alert and active, they are outside of their cribs being challenged and stimulated.
The activities for Infants are:

  • Gross Motor: Babies need a lot of gross motor activities to help develop and "fine tune" gross motor skills.
  • Intellectual Stimulation: Interaction with verbal exchanges, playing, music, making noises, exploring objects for size, shape, color, texture, movement, position and sound.
  • Social Development: Interaction with familiar people, reassuring and nurturing at all times, close attention to activities, verbal communication and approval.
  • Language: Play with toys and verbalize parts, make noises during interactions, name all objects consistently and constantly, give meaning when introducing new words, name all body actions, read books and look at pictures.

Self Awareness: Help facilitate bottle holding, finger foods, picking up small objects, learning to creep, crawl and walk. TOP

TODDLER CURRICULUM

The purpose of the Toddler Program is to encourage, assist and protect the normal development of each child. Children in our program flourish in a prepared environment, which respect, support and respond to their basic needs for independence and exploration, and the building of trust and self esteem.

The toddler community has four distinct areas:

  • Physical and Motor Areas: includes materials for hand eye coordination, such as threading, bead stringing, puzzles, gluing, folding, and cutting.
  • Self help Skills Area: includes materials necessary for learning how to spoon, sort, pour and transfer small objects, learning how to sweep, serve a snack, clean up and so on.
  • Early Montessori: includes name recognition, number and letter identification and classroom etiquette and procedure.
  • Language Area: includes language cards, books, vocabulary exercise and other activities, including art and music experience. TOP

Preschool thru Kindergarten Curriculum

Dr. Maria Montessori believed that no human being is educated by another person. He or she must do it by him or herself or it will never be done.

Dr. Montessori felt that the goals of early childhood education should not be to fill the child with facts, but rather to cultivate the child's own natural desire to learn.

In the Montessori classroom, this objective is approached in two ways: allowing each child to experience the excitement of learning by him or her own choice rather than by being forced and helping the child perfect his or her natural feel for learning, so that the child's abilities will be maximized for future learning situations.

The Montessori materials have this dual, long range purpose in addition to their immediate purpose of giving specific information to the child.
Practical Life: In this area of the classroom, children perfect their coordination and become absorbed in an activity. They gradually lengthen their span of concentration. They also learn to pay attention to details as they follow a regular sequence of actions. Finally, they learn good working habits as they finish each task and put away all the material before beginning another activity. The exercises will include care of person, care of environment and control of movement.
Sensorial: These materials assist the child in learning to differentiate between sizes, weights, textures, sounds, odors and taste. The child becomes involved in numerous activities, which allow him to organize and classify.
Language: This area employs a phonetic approach to learning to read. Vocabulary activities enable the child to classify his environment, enrich his vocabulary and develop communication skills. The basic skills in writing and reading are developed through the use of sandpaper letters, alphabet cutouts and various presentations, allowing the child to link the sounds and letters symbols effortlessly and to express their thoughts through writing.
Mathematics: The child is presented with concrete and manipulative materials to build a solid foundation in understanding math concepts. As he masters the various skills, the concepts become more complex, he is then introduced to more abstract work.
Science: The children learn about living and non living things, parts of plants and animals to make scientific observations and discoveries.
Geography: The children learn about the world around them, cultural diversity and costumes. They work with globes, maps, flags and landforms.
Music: The focus is to develop an appreciation for music. The children dance and sing in circle time.
Art: A natural part of the Montessori classroom, which encourage individual expressions. Finger and brush painting, watercolor and clay offer opportunities to experiment and enjoy the process rather than product oriented. TOP
